Reporting a message

Users with the installed Sophos Outlook add-in can access the Report to Sophos button when reading a message in the reading pane or a pop-out window, ensuring full functionality on desktops or mobiles.

Note

To find out which version is deployed in your Microsoft environment and how to upgrade, see Upgrading the Outlook add-in.

For users with Outlook on the web or as a Desktop app, the report button is in their Outlook ribbon when reading a message. For users with the Outlook app on their mobile devices, the report option is available by clicking the ellipsis (three dots) when reading a message.

They can click Report to Sophos to report the message, whether a Phish Treat simulation or a genuine suspicious message. The user is asked to confirm the submission.

After the message is reported, the user sees a dialog thanking them for their awareness and informing them that the message has been submitted to their administrator and deleted from their mailbox.

If the message is a Phish Threat simulation, they receive immediate feedback in Outlook thanking them for their awareness and reinforcing this positive behavior.
