Sophos Mobile Control is being renamed Sophos Mobile Device Management, and Sophos Intercept X for Mobile is being renamed Sophos Mobile Threat Defense. The iOS apps are already available with the new names. The Android apps will be available in early 2027. In this help, Sophos Mobile Device Management and Sophos Mobile Threat Defense refer to both the Android and iOS apps. Select this banner for more information.

Create device group

  1. On the menu sidebar, click Device groups, and then click Create device group.
  2. On the Edit device group page, enter a name and a description for the new device group.
  3. Under Compliance policies, select the compliance policies that are applied to corporate and to personal devices.
  4. Click Save.

The new device group is created and shown on the Device groups page.

Enable iOS auto-enrollment

The device group settings contain the Enable iOS auto-enrollment option. This option allows you to enroll iPhones and iPads with Apple Configurator. See Auto-enroll iPhones and iPads.
