Upgrade a device to managed Google domain enrollment
Warning
You can't revert a device's enrollment mode after you upgrade it to managed Google domain.
After you turned on managed Google domain device enrollment for new enrollments, you can also upgrade an already enrolled Android Enterprise device to managed Google domain.
Requirements
Check the following requirements before you upgrade a device:
- You turned on managed Google domain device enrollment. See Managed Google domain device enrollment.
- The device has a user assigned in Sophos Mobile.

The user's email address is from your managed Google domain.
This requirement applies to devices enrolled both with and without user authentication.

The user performing the upgrade on the device knows their Google sign-in details.
- The device has Sophos Mobile Control 9.8 or later installed.
Upgrade a device
Note
The user must start the upgrade on the device within one hour after you start the Upgrade to managed Google domain enrollment action in Sophos Mobile. After one hour, the upgrade token created by Google becomes invalid.
To upgrade a device to managed Google domain device enrollment, do as follows:
- In Sophos Fusion, go to My Products > Mobile.
- Go to Devices.
- Click the device you want to upgrade to managed Google domain device enrollment.

On the Show device page, click Actions > Upgrade to managed Google domain enrollment.
This action isn't available if the device already uses the managed Google domain enrollment mode.

Sophos Mobile sends a task to the Sophos Mobile Control app on the device to upgrade the enrollment mode.
- Sophos Mobile Control notifies the user about the upgrade. They must acknowledge the notification to proceed.
- To complete the upgrade, the user must authenticate with Google.
