Automate installing the iOS configuration profile

When you use a third-party EMM, you can deploy the iOS configuration profile for Sophos Mobile Threat Defense through the EMM, which automates profile installation for users.

On iPhones and iPads, Sophos Mobile Threat Defense uses a configuration profile to provide web filtering. If you don't deploy the profile through the Enterprise Mobility Management product (EMM), users must install it when Sophos Mobile Threat Defense enrolls with Sophos Mobile.

Requirements

To automate installing the iOS configuration profile, do as follows:

  1. Download the file activate-smsec-plain.mobileconfig from the following URL:

    https://secureservices.sophosmc.com/webfiltering/activate-smsec-plain.mobileconfig

  2. In the EMM, create a custom configuration profile into which you upload the .mobileconfig file. Then send the profile to your iPhones and iPads.

  3. Install Sophos Mobile Threat Defense through the EMM.
