Configure Chrome tamper protection

With tamper protection you ensure the integrity of the Chrome Security policy.

On Chrome devices, malicious users could potentially modify the Chrome Security policy, for example by using the Chrome developer tools. When Sophos Mobile detects that the policy was modified on a device, it re-applies the original policy and performs actions you’ve configured in a compliance policy.

Note

Tamper protection is always turned on, even if you don’t configure additional actions in a compliance policy.

To configure tamper protection:

  1. Create or edit a compliance policy for Chrome OS.
  2. In the compliance policy, configure actions for the Tamper protection turned off rule.

You can create an alert or transfer a task bundle when the user modifies the policy.

  3. Assign the compliance policy to the device group you use for Chrome devices.
