Math settings

This feature might not be available for all customers yet.

This feature is only available for supervised iPhones and iPads with iOS 18, iPadOS 18, or later.

The Math settings configuration of an iOS or iPadOS declarative policy lets you configure the Calculator app and the operating system's math behavior.

Calculator

Setting Description
Show square root button

The basic calculator shows the square root button instead of the plus-minus button.

If you turn this setting off, the square root button is only available in the scientific calculator.
Allow unit conversion Users can use the Convert feature of the Calculator app to convert lengths, weights, currencies, and other units.
Allow Math Notes mode Users can use the Math Notes feature of the Calculator app.
Allow scientific mode Users can use the scientific calculator.

Setting Description
Show math solutions in keyboard suggestions Keyboard suggestions include math solutions.
Allow Math Notes in other apps Users can use the Math Notes feature of the Calculator app in other apps, for example, the Notes app.
