Network usage rules configuration (iOS device policy)
With the Network usage rules configuration you specify how managed apps are allowed to use cellular data networks.
General rules
Under Rules for all managed apps, enter the settings for managed apps in general.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Allow cellular data | Managed apps are allowed to use data communication over cellular networks. |
Allow data roaming | Managed apps are allowed to use data communication while the device is roaming on a foreign cellular network. |
Exceptions
Exceptions override the general rules. Use Add exception to define rules that are specific to an app group.
Restriction
You cannot define multiple exceptions for the same app group.
Setting | Description |

App group | Select an app group. The exception applies to all managed apps in that group. |
Allow cellular data | Managed apps from the selected app group are allowed to use data communication over cellular networks. |
Allow data roaming | Managed apps from the selected app group are allowed to use data communication while the device is roaming on a foreign cellular network. |
