App Store configuration (macOS user policy)
With the App Store configuration you restrict the App Store usage.
|Require admin password
|Users require an administrator password to install or update apps.
|Restrict to updates
|Users can update apps but can’t install new apps.
|Forbid app adoption
App adoption allows users to assign apps to their Apple ID that have not been installed through the App Store. If you forbid app adoption, users can’t update these apps.
For example, this affects iLife or iWork apps bundled with the Mac.
|Turn off update notifications
|Users don’t receive update notifications.
