Portal Encryption
If you've received a notification email requiring you to sign in to the Sophos Secure Message portal, the email is portal-encrypted. The notification email contains a secure link to the portal, where you can sign in and view the encrypted email.
When signed in, you can read, reply to, and manage your encrypted emails within the portal. Replies you send through the portal remain encrypted, ensuring secure communication with the sender.
The first time you receive an encrypted email, we create an account for you in Sophos Secure Message. The account uses your email address. You'll receive an account activation email in your usual email software. You must activate the account before you can read encrypted emails. See Activate your Sophos Secure Message account.
After you've activated your account, when someone sends encrypted emails to your Sophos Secure Message account, you receive notification emails in your usual email software. You click the link in the notification emails to sign in to your account. Received notification emails expire on the date specified in the email body.
You use Sophos Secure Message to read and reply to encrypted emails, as well as manage your account. See Using Sophos Secure Message.
If you forget your Sophos Secure Message password, you can recover it. There's a link to the recovery process in the notification emails you receive each time someone sends you an encrypted email. See Recover your password.
