Emergency Inbox

The Emergency Inbox allows you to view inbound emails you've received in the last 30 days, or 90 days with a Sophos Email Plus license. It's typically used when the mail server isn't able to receive emails or the mail client isn't accessible.

You can download email attachments, but you can't reply to messages.

Note

Your administrator must turn on Emergency Inbox in Sophos Central Admin.

To use the Emergency Inbox, do as follows:

  1. In Self Service Portal, click Email, then click Emergency Inbox.

The Emergency Inbox displays messages from the last 30 days, or 90 days with a Sophos Email Plus license. The sender, subject, date and time, and size are shown for each message.

  2. Use Search to filter the displayed messages. You can filter by message content, sender, or subject.

  3. Click the message subject to view the email.

Replay messages

Your administrator must turn this feature on.

You can replay one or more inbound emails from the last 30 days, or 90 days with a Sophos Email Plus license.

Replaying a message attempts to deliver the original email to your mailbox again. This can be useful if you accidentally deleted an email and want to recover it.

If the original message had multiple recipients, it's redelivered only to you when you replay it from the Emergency Inbox.

If you redeliver a message that was previously undelivered, it's sent again in its original form. However, if the message was previously delivered successfully, the redelivery creates a new email with the original message attached and sends it to you. This ensures that you can distinguish the redelivery from the original delivery.

To replay messages, do as follows:

  1. Select one or more messages. You can select up to 100 messages at a time.
  2. Click Redeliver email.

The message is redelivered to your mailbox.
