Disconnect email domain from Sophos Gateway

If you aren't using Sophos Email Security any more, you should delete the connection from Sophos Gateway to your domains.

To delete a Sophos Gateway connection, do as follows:

  1. Go to My Products > General Settings > Domain Settings / Status.
  2. Click the domain name.
  3. In Domain summary, click Delete domain.
  4. Click Delete to confirm.

You must undo any changes you made to your domain settings and email configuration when you originally connected the domain to Sophos Gateway. The changes depend on the type of email system you're using and your network configuration.

You might need to change some or all of the following:

  • MX records.

    • Undo the redirection to Sophos.
  • Email gateway IP addresses.

    • Change to your current email provider.
  • SPF domains.

    • Remove references to Sophos SPF domains.
    • Add SPF domains for your current email provider if necessary.
  • Outbound relay host address.

    • Remove the Sophos outbound relay host if necessary.
  • Remove the TXT record you added to your domain when you verified it with Sophos.
