XG to XGS license transition

As part of the XG end-of-life process in 2025, we're allowing customers who are transitioning from XG Series appliances to XGS Series appliances to run both appliances in parallel for a few months. For early XG to XGS renewals, the XGS license will start when Sophos processes the order, not on the day after the expiry of the XG license, as would be normal for renewals.

This means that when you renew your license early, we'll extend your license term so that you have time to set up and configure your XGS appliance and retire your XG appliance.

Here's an example. Your order for a renewal of a 36-month XStream Protection license with an XGS appliance is processed on December 16, 2024, and your XG expiry date is March 16, 2025. You can run your XG and XGS appliances in parallel until March 16, 2025. Your 36-month term for your XGS appliance starts on March 17, 2025.
