How is license usage calculated?
We license Sophos Mobile on a per-user basis. The following rules apply:
- Every user assigned to a device managed by Sophos Mobile will use one Mobile license.
- A user who has several devices assigned will still only use one Mobile license.
- A device without an assigned user will use one Mobile license.
- Only devices that have synchronized with Sophos Mobile within the last 30 days are included in the usage calculation.
Is there a limit on the number of devices a user can have?
We don't limit the number of devices a user can be assigned to when calculating license usage. However, there's a technical limitation of 10 Android Enterprise devices a user can enroll at the same time. This is an Android limitation we can't control.
What happens if I exceed the license limit?
- In some circumstances, usage calculation may not be correct. You may be shown that you exceeded your license limit. When this happens, you can continue using and managing Sophos Mobile.
- The license limit isn't enforced based on the usage calculated within the product to allow for inaccuracies in the calculation.
