Outbound email for Zoho Mail

This topic explains how to set up Zoho Mail to route outbound email through Sophos Gateway.

Configuring outbound routing

To configure Sophos Gateway to handle outbound routing for Zoho Mail, do as follows:

  1. Click the General Settings icon General Settings icon., scroll down to the Email Domain Setup section, and click Gateway Domain Settings/Status.

    Tip

    Alternatively, go to My Products > Email Security > Settings. Under Email Domain Setup, click Gateway Domain Settings/Status.

    Gateway Domains settings/status opens with a list of your domains.

  2. Click your domain.

  3. Click Edit.
  4. In Direction, select Inbound and Outbound.
  5. In Outbound Gateway, select Custom Gateway.
  6. Enter the Zoho outbound SMTP Gateway CIDR ranges, then click Add.

    Zoho IP ranges may change. Verify the current ranges in Zoho documentation or SPF records, or contact Zoho Support.

  7. Click Save.

Copy the Sophos outbound relay host

Copy the Sophos outbound relay host to use when configuring the Zoho outbound gateway.

To do this, do as follows:

  1. In Gateway Domain Settings/Status, click Configure External Dependencies.
  2. Select Outbound Settings.
  3. In Outbound Relay Host, copy the FQDN shown.
  4. Click Close.

Configure Zoho outbound gateway

Configure Zoho Mail to route outbound email through the Sophos outbound relay host.

To do this, do as follows:

  1. Sign in to the Zoho Mail Admin Console.
  2. Go to Mail Settings > Email Routing > Outbound Gateway.
  3. In Destination Host, paste the Sophos outbound relay host FQDN you copied earlier.
  4. In Connection type, select TLS.
  5. Click Update.

You receive a verification email from Zoho Mail. We recommend that you send a test email from a Zoho mailbox to verify outbound connectivity.

Verify outbound mail flow

After completing the configuration, verify that outbound mail flows through Sophos Gateway.

To do this, do as follows:

  1. Send a test email from a Zoho mailbox to an address outside your Zoho domain.
  2. Go to My Products > Email Security > Dashboard and you should see the following activities:

    • The Outbound Statistics widget shows data.
    • The Outbound Activity Summary widget shows traffic.

You've now configured outbound mail routing from Zoho Mail through Sophos Gateway.
