Pause a campaign

If you need to temporarily stop sending campaign emails to recipients, click Pause. This is typically required in two scenarios:

  • When campaign emails aren't getting delivered, and you need time to troubleshoot and fix the issue on the mail server.
  • When you need to make corrections or changes in the campaign, such as fixing a typo in the template, modifying a training lesson, or adding recipients.

When a campaign is paused, the following provisions apply:

  • Attack emails, training emails, and reminder emails aren't sent to the remaining users.
  • User actions are recorded and updated in the campaign report for delivered emails.

Edit a campaign

When a campaign is paused, you can edit it. When you click Edit, the campaign setup assistant opens in editing mode. You will be able to make any changes to the campaign as you want.

You can modify any value for the campaign except Campaign Type and Campaign Start Date.

You can add or remove recipients from the recipient list. However, you can’t remove a recipient for whom the email has already been sent.

Resume a paused campaign

Before you resume a paused campaign, make sure that you've made the necessary changes in the campaign or in your mail server system.

When resumed, the campaign will be active again and attack emails will be sent to the remaining recipients as per the defined schedule. Training emails and reminder emails will be resumed to the applicable recipients. All the changes made to the campaign will apply for the rest of the campaign duration. These changes won't modify past events.

Example 1

User X has received an attack email with the old template. You edit the campaign and change the template to a new attack email.

The attack email for user X isn't updated. User X still sees the old email because that email has already been delivered to them. The new attack email is sent only to the remaining users.

Example 2

User X failed the test and is assigned a training course. At this stage, the admin edits the campaign and replaces the training course with a new one.

The next time user X clicks their email training link, they will be redirected to the new training course, and not the old one.
