Bulk install Protected Browser on Mac devices using Jamf Pro

You can use Jamf Pro to install Protected Browser on multiple Mac devices at the same time.

The key steps are as follows:

1. Download the installer from Sophos Central.
2. Create a deployable package.
3. Create a policy.

Requirements

To install Protected Browser using Jamf Pro, you must have the following accounts:

• A Jamf Pro admin account
• A Sophos Central admin account

Download the installer from Sophos Central

To download the Protected Browser installer, do as follows:

1. In Sophos Central, go to My Environment > Installers.
2. Under Protected Browser, click Download macOS Installer (Universal - Intel and Apple silicon).

The macOS installer is downloaded to your device.

Create a deployable package

To create a deployable package, do as follows:

1. In Jamf Pro, go to Settings > Computer management > Packages.
2. In General, enter a name for the package.
3. In Category, select Browsers.
4. Under Filename, upload the macOS installer you downloaded from Sophos Central.
5. Click Save.

Create a policy

To create a policy to install the browser, do as follows:

1. In Jamf Pro, go to Computers > Policies.
2. In General, enter a name for the policy.
3. In Category, select Browsers.
4. In Trigger, choose an event to initiate the policy. For example, select Recurring Check-in to initiate the policy when the device checks in with the Jamf Pro server the next time.
5. In Packages, choose the deployable package you created for Protected Browser.
6. In Scope, select the devices on which you want to install the browser.
7. Click Save.
