Policies
On the details page of a device managed by Sophos Mobile, the Policies tab shows Sophos Mobile policies and provisioning profiles assigned to the device.
Restriction
The Policies tab doesn't show the following policies:
- iOS and iPadOS device policies
- Knox container policies
- Android device policies for devices enrolled in the obsolete device administrator management mode
To see these policies, click Open in Sophos Mobile at the top right of the device details page.
For information on assigning Sophos Mobile policies to devices, see Policies.
To open the Policies tab for a device, go to Devices > Mobile devices, click the device name, and then go to Policies.
The list includes the following details:
- Status: The assignment status, for example, Applied.
- Name: The policy name.
- Type: The policy type.
- Version: The policy version. Sophos Mobile automatically increments the version when you edit the policy.
-
Component: The entity to which Sophos Mobile sent the policy when assigning it to the device.
For most policy types, this entity is the device's MDM agent. However, Android Enterprise device policies and work profile policies can contain configurations Sophos Mobile sends to a Google API instead of the device. In this case, the list will show two entries for the policy with a different component and, potentially, a different status.
-
Assigned at: The date Sophos Mobile assigned the policy to the device or reassigned it after an update.
Note
When you assign a macOS user policy to a device, macOS assigns it to every user when they sign in to the Mac. The list includes separate entries for all users to whom the policy is assigned.
Note
iOS device policies with no configuration other than Roaming/Hotspot or Wallpaper don't appear in the list.
Click the Refresh icon at the top right to reload the information shown in the Policies tab.
To filter the list, start typing a policy name in the search box.
