PDF encryption

PDF encryption delivers secure emails as password protected PDF files.

The PDF files are delivered to your usual email software. Each file is secured with a password that you set.

Attachments may be delivered as a mixture of PDF files, Microsoft Office files and ZIP files, depending on the format of the original file. The body of the email contains information about how to open your files.

To open an encrypted email you need a PDF reader such as Adobe Reader (recommended), and your password. For information on passwords, see Sophos Secure Message PDF passwords.

Once you've opened an encrypted email in your PDF reader, you can send a secure reply.
