View your password history

Passwords are encrypted within each password-protected document file. This means password-protected document files keep the passwords valid at the time they were encrypted. They don't update if you change your password with Sophos Secure Message encryption. For this reason, you can see the passwords used for a date range.

To view your Sophos Secure Message password history, do as follows:

1. Open your encrypted notification email.
2. Click the password recovery link.
3. On the Update Credentials or View Password History page, select Log in with Password.
4. Enter your email address and current password.
5. Click Login.

6. On the Password Management page, select Recover Existing Password.

   Your password history appears, but passwords remain hidden.

7. Click and hold Show Password to view the password for the selected date range.

8. Log out when you're finished.
