Settings for managed Google Play apps

This page lists the settings for managed Google Play apps you’ve approved for your organization.

Setting Description
Title The external app name as displayed in managed Google Play.
Product ID The internal app name.
Pricing The pricing type:
  • Free
  • Free with in-app purchases
  • Paid
Distribution type
  • Public (Google-hosted): The app is available to the general public in managed Google Play.
  • Private (Google-hosted): The app is developed by you and only available to users within your Managed Google Domain. The APK file was uploaded to managed Google Play.
  • Private (self-hosted): Like Private (Google-hosted), but the APK file is installed from your local server. Managed Google Play is only used to manage the distribution.

The web address of the app in managed Google Play and Google Play.

Page The page on which the app will appear in the users’ Google Play Store app.

The values are pre-configured by Sophos Mobile and cannot be changed.

App category The name of a category under which the app will appear in the users’ Google Play Store app.

When you start to type, a list of matching categories is displayed. If you enter a category that is not available, it is created.

Licenses Click Show next to Licenses to view or edit the number of used and remaining licenses for the app, and the users that have a license assigned.

This setting is only available for paid apps.

Use managed configuration Select this to make the managed configuration available to your users.

This takes effect the next time you send app settings to Google.

This setting is only available if the app offers managed configuration.

You can use the placeholders %_USERNAME_% and %_EMAILADDRESS_% which are replaced by the actual user name and email address.
