Web content filter configuration (iOS device policy)
The Web content filter configuration lets you block web pages in Safari and other WebKit-based browsers.
You have the following options:
- Plugin: Use a third-party filtering app to block web pages.
- Blocked URLs: Configure web pages that users can’t access. All other pages are allowed.
- Allowed URLs: Configure web pages that users can access. All other pages are blocked.
Plugin
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Filter name | A custom name for the filter configuration. |
Filter ID | The bundle ID of the third-party app. |
Server | The name, IP address, or URL of the server that hosts the filtering service. |
Organization | The name of your organization, if required by the filtering service. |
User name | The username for connecting to the filtering service. |
Password | The password for connecting to the filtering service. |
Certificate | The certificate for authenticating to the filtering service. |
Filter browser traffic | Turn on filtering of WebKit browser traffic. |
Filter socket traffic | Turn on filtering of socket traffic. |
Third-party settings | Additional settings, if required by the filtering service. |
Blocked URLs

Blocked URLs | URLs that users aren’t allowed to access. Enter one URL per line. When Safari matches a URL, it ignores any protocol, path, or subdomain that you enter here. For example when you enter
