How to install and upgrade Sophos Connect

Your firewall administrator will configure the connection details on Sophos Firewall or Sophos UTM and give you the installation package and the connection configuration files.

You can also download the Sophos Connect client from the VPN portal. See VPN portal.

Sophos Connect client: Compatibility with platforms

You can establish IPsec and SSL VPN tunnels using the Sophos Connect client on some endpoint platforms and versions. Check the platform version of your endpoint to see if you can use the Sophos Connect client. For more information, see Supported platforms in Sophos Connect release notes.

Install Sophos Connect on Windows or macOS

Follow these instructions to install Sophos Connect on Windows or macOS.

Warning

If you have an existing SSL VPN Client on your computer, you must uninstall it. Sophos Connect can't operate if another VPN client is installed.

To install Sophos Connect on Windows, do as follows:

  1. Open the installer.
  2. Accept the license agreement and click Install.
  3. Once the installation is complete, click Finish.

You can now run Sophos Connect.

To install Sophos Connect on macOS, do as follows:

  1. Open the installer.
  2. Choose the installation destination. Make sure you have enough free space in the destination you've chosen, such as the system drive.
  3. Click Install.
  4. Once the installation is complete, click Finish.

You can now run Sophos Connect.

Upgrade Sophos Connect

To upgrade Sophos Connect, do as follows:

  1. Uninstall the current version. See How to uninstall Sophos Connect.
  2. Install the latest version. See Install Sophos Connect on Windows or macOS.
