Reset your admin password using SFLoader

You can reset your password with SFLoader when other options aren't available.

To reset your admin password with SFLoader, do as follows:

  1. Connect a console cable to Sophos Firewall and access the console using PuTTY or HyperTerminal.
  2. Configure the terminal client parameters as follows:

    Parameter Value
    Bits per second 38400
    Data bits 8
    Parity None
    Stop bits 1
    Flow control None

  3. Restart the device.

  4. When it's restarting, press the up arrow repeatedly.
  5. On the bootloader screen, select the option SFLoader.

  6. On the Options Menu, press 2, followed by the Enter key to select 2 Troubleshoot.

  7. On the Troubleshoot Menu, press 1 followed by the Enter key to select 1 Reset console password.

    Note

    This will reset the password to the default: admin.

  8. Click OK.

  9. Press 5 followed by the Enter key to select 5 Reboot.
  10. Sign in to the web admin console using the default password.
