Add an SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c community

You can create an SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c community by adding an SNMP manager.

You can also allow SNMP requests and traps (alerts).

  1. Go to Administration > SNMP. Scroll down to SNMPv1 and v2c community and traps and select Add.
  2. Enter a name.

It acts as the SNMP community string, which identifies the community and functions as a password to authenticate SNMP queries.

  3. Enter the IP address (IPv4 or IPv6) of the SNMP manager.

If an SNMP manager or authorized host is in the WAN zone, turn on SNMP for the WAN zone. Go to Administration > Device access.

  4. Select Query to allow requests from the specified manager.

  5. Select Trap support to send traps to the specified manager.

    Tip

To turn on SNMP traps, go to System services > Notification list.

  6. Click Save.
