Backup and restore cloud and virtual firewalls

You can use the backup and restore tool built into the firewall to backup your cloud and virtual firewalls.

Backup and restore tool

The Sophos backup and restore tool is the only supported method for backing up and restoring cloud and virtual firewalls. Using the tool guarantees safe and reliable backups and minimizes compatibility issues that may occur when restoring a backup.

Third-party backup tools

We don't support backups made outside of the built-in backup and restore tool. Most virtual platform vendors offer their own backup solutions. While you can use these tools, we can't guarantee that they will be compatible with the Sophos recovery process and can result in data integrity issues and unsupported configurations.
