Software appliance

You can deploy Sophos Firewall software on physical hardware over Windows and macOS operating systems.

The firewall supports standard hardware offerings from Dell, HP, and other manufacturers.

Sophos Firewall software installed on physical hardware offers full protection, including threat response, rules, policies, and routes, such as static, SD-WAN, and dynamic routes.

Warning

When you install the Sophos Firewall ISO on physical hardware, the installation process formats, reimages, and then repartitions the hardware with SFOS. The process erases the contents of the hard disk, including the operating system. So, make sure you take a backup of all data before the installation.

System requirements

Sophos Firewall goes into fail-safe mode if you don't meet the minimum requirements.

The system requirements are as follows:
