Manage access points remotely using awetool

To remotely manage Sophos APX series access points using awetool, do as follows:

  1. Sign in to the Sophos Firewall command line console (CLI) as the admin user.
  2. Type 5 for Device Management.
  3. Type 3 for Advanced Shell.
  4. Type awetool and press Enter.
  5. Select Connect to an AP and press Enter to list all available access points.
  6. Select the access point you want to manage.
  7. Select OK.
  8. Type y to finish connecting to the access point.

  9. Type one of the following commands and press Enter.

    • reboot: Restarts the access point.
    • logread: View the AP log. Use logread -f to follow the log and show new lines as they arrive.
