Add a BGP neighbor

To add a neighbor, specify the neighboring router's IPv4 or IPv6 address and AS number.

  1. Go to Routing > BGP.
  2. Under Neighbors, click Add.
  3. Set IP version to IPv4 or IPv6.
  4. Enter the neighboring router's IPv4 or IPv6 address.
  5. Enter the remote autonomous system (AS) number of the neighboring router.
  6. Click Save.

Note

By default, the firewall only advertises networks to neighbors of the same IP version.

Note

Editing the BGP neighbor configuration through the web admin console removes the associated advanced route settings configured through the CLI, such as the neighbor password.

If you have advanced route configuration, we recommend you always edit through the CLI. See Routing FAQ.
