Reset an APX series access point

How to restart and reset an APX series access point.

Introduction

Depending on how long you press and hold the reset button, you can restart an access point and also reset its configuration and image to factory defaults.

Restarts with current image and configuration

To restart, do as follows:

1. Press and hold the reset button for up to 8 seconds.
2. Release the reset button. The access point restarts (LED turns off, then turns solid green).

Restart with current image and the factory default configuration

To restart, do as follows:

1. Press and hold the reset button for 15 to 20 seconds.
2. Release the reset button. The access point restarts with the factory default configuration.
3. Register the access point with Sophos Central.
