Remote connectivity

You can remotely access and configure other firewalls, applications, and resources in your network.

  • Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA)

You can set up ZTNA from Sophos Central to control access to your network's resources (apps and web pages) through your gateways.

  • Site-to-site VPN

Using the Site-to-site VPN feature of the firewall, you can encrypt traffic over IPsec and SSL VPN tunnels in your network. You can set up policy-based, route-based, and SSL VPN tunnels.

  • Remote access VPN

You can configure remote access IPsec and SSL VPNs to establish connections using the Sophos Connect client. You can also configure clientless SSL VPN, L2TP, and PPTP VPNs.

  • ZTNA versus remote access VPN

Before implementing a remote connectivity solution for your organization, analyze whether you want to use ZTNA or a remote access VPN.

  • Remote Ethernet Devices (REDs)

You can set up secure connectivity between your remote branch offices and the main offices using REDs. You create RED interfaces using the web admin console of the firewall. These interfaces allow you to configure and install RED appliances or create a site-to-site RED tunnel between two Sophos Firewall devices.
