Servers

Novell eDirectory is no longer supported in SFOS 23.0 and later. You must migrate from eDirectory to a supported authentication type and remove your eDirectory configuration before upgrading to 23.0 and later, or the upgrade will fail. See eDirectory is discontinued in SFOS 23.0.

External servers authenticate users who are attempting to access the firewall and associated services.

Use these settings to define servers and manage access to them.

To import Active Directory user groups, click Import Import button..

Users from external directory servers only start appearing on Authentication > Users when they next sign in to any service, for example, the user portal or VPN portal.

Note

When users with administrator roles authenticate with the firewall from an external directory server for the first time, they're created as standard users. You must then manually assign administrator roles to these users.

However, when using OpenID Connect, users with administrator roles can be created automatically.
