Cellular WAN

Cellular WAN provides wireless broadband connectivity through a mobile network.

Warning

Shut down the firewall before unplugging the modem or making changes to the physical WWAN hardware, such as the 5G module or SIM card. Changes made while the firewall is running can result in cellular WAN connectivity issues.

  • To turn cellular WAN on or off, click the switch.

    When you turn on cellular WAN, the firewall creates the WWAN1 interface.

  • To connect to the modem that provides cellular WAN service, click Connect.

  • To restart the modem, click Reset.

    This restarts the modem and reconnects it to the firewall. Existing WWAN interface settings and dependent configurations are retained.

    Restriction

    The reset option is available only for the Quectel and Sierra Wireless 5G models. It isn't available for other models or USB dongles.

    To restart the unsupported models, use modem-specific AT (attention) commands. Alternatively, shut down the firewall, unplug the modem, and plug it back in.
