Add an SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c community
You can create an SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c community by adding an SNMP manager.
You can also allow SNMP requests and traps (alerts).
- Go to Administration > SNMP. Scroll down to SNMPv1/v2c and select Add.
- Enter a name.
-
Enter a community string.
This identifies the community and functions as a password to authenticate SNMP queries.
-
Select the IP version of the SNMP manager. Choose from IPv4 or IPv6.
-
Enter the IP address of the SNMP manager.
If an SNMP manager or authorized host is in the WAN zone, turn on SNMP for the WAN zone. Go to Administration > Device access.
-
Select Accept Queries to allow requests from the specified manager.
-
Select Send traps to send traps to the specified manager.
Tip
To turn on SNMP traps, go to System services > Notification list.
-
Click Save.
