NTP

The menu Network Services > NTP allows you to configure an NTP server for the connected networks. The Network Time Protocol (NTP) is a protocol used for synchronizing the clocks of computer systems over IP networks. Instead of just synchronizing the time of Sophos UTM on AWS, which can be configured on the Management > System Settings > Time and Date tab, you can explicitly allow certain networks to use this service as well.

To enable the use of NTP time synchronization for specific networks, proceed as follows:

  1. Enable the NTP server.

    Click the toggle switch.

The toggle switch turns amber and the NTP Options area becomes editable.

  2. Select Allowed networks.

Add or select the networks that should be allowed to access the NTP server. How to add a definition is explained on the Definitions & Users > Network Definitions > Network Definitions page.

  3. Click Apply.

    Your settings will be saved.

    The toggle switch turns green.
