Download Sophos Connect and the configuration

The User Portal is available to all remote access users. You can download the installers and instructions for the configuration of your endpoint device. Your UTM system administrator must provide you with your user credentials for accessing the User Portal.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open a browser and enter the address of the User Portal.

    Example: https://218.93.117.220.

    A security note may show.

    • (Optional) Accept the security note.

      • Mozilla Firefox: Click I Understand the Risks > Add Exception > Confirm Security Exception

      • Google Chrome: Click Proceed Anyway.

      • Internet Explorer: Click Continue to this website.

  2. Log in to the User Portal using your credentials.

    Username: The username you received from your administrator.

    Password: The password you received from your administrator.

    Click Login.

  3. Go to Remote Access.

    This page can contain multiple cards, depending on the remote access connection types (IPsec VPN, L2TP VPN, PPTP VPN, iOS device VPN configuration) your administrator enabled for you.

    Some cards have a help icon that links to the respective configuration guide.

  1. Download the Sophos Connect client installer.

    1. Click the first Download button.

      The UTM redirects you to the UTM Download page of the Sophos website.

    2. Click Download next to the installer type you need: Windows or macOS.

    3. Fill in and accept the End User Terms of Use and Export Compliance form.

      The download starts automatically.

    4. Select a location to store the file and finish the download.

  2. Go back to the User Portal and click the second Download button to download the configuration file (.ovpn).

  3. Click Log out to close the User Portal session.

The rest of the configuration takes place in the Sophos Connect client.
