Management interface
All Sophos Switch models features a graphical user interface (GUI) you can use to manage them.
Warning
Any local configuration changes on the switch won't be synchronized with Sophos Central. We recommend making changes in Sophos Central instead. See Switches.
Prerequisites
In order to connect to and configure Sophos Switch, you must meet the following requirements:
- Windows, Mac, or Linux device
- Wired or wireless connection to the same network as the switch

The default password for the switch, located on a sticker on the back panel of the switch
Tip
If you lose the default password for a switch managed by Sophos Central, you can reset it from Sophos Central. See Recover password on Switch management
Connecting to the GUI
To connect to the GUI, do as follows:
- Connect your Windows, Mac, or Linux device to the same network as the switch.

Open a web browser and enter the IP address of the switch you want to manage.
The default IP address is
172.16.16.239. -
Enter the username and password to login to the switch. The default values are as follows:
- Username:
admin - Password: The sticker on the back panel of the switch shows the default password.

Password change
The first time you sign in to the management interface, you're prompted to change the password. The new password must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 10 characters
- Maximum 32 characters
- At least one letter and number
- One of the following special characters: @ ~ % * # + - =
