Any configuration changes made locally on the switch won't be synchronized with Sophos Central. We recommend making changes from the Sophos Central control panel instead.

Access list

SNMP access lists let you control which SNMP groups can interact with specific devices on your network and the levels of interaction they're allowed. You can use access lists to specify read, write, and notify privileges for specific groups and view lists.

The Access list tab shows the name, security and privilege modes, and read, write, and notify views for all access lists on the switch.

To configure an access list, do as follows:

  1. Go to Configure > SNMP > Access list.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter the following information:

    • Group name: Select a group from the drop-down list. This is the group to which access control rules are applied.
    • Security mode: Select the SNMP version from the drop-down list.
    • Privilege mode: Select a security level from the drop-down list.

      Note

You can't select a Privilege mode that the Security mode doesn't support. For example, if your Security mode is v1, you can't select Authentication or Privilege.

    • Read view: Enter the name of the view list you want to restrict to read-only.

    • Write view: Enter the name of the view list to which you want to allow write privilege.
    • Notify view: Enter the name of the view list for which you want to receive SNMP trap messages generated by the switch's SNMP agent.

      Tip

SNMP uses view lists to control access to specific Management Information Base (MIB) Object Identifiers (OID). See View list.

  4. Click Apply.

To edit an access list, click Edit on the one whose settings you want to change.

To delete an access list, click Delete on the one you want to remove.
