Global settings

To turn SNMP on or off, and configure the Local engine ID, do as follows:

  1. Go to Configure > SNMP > Global settings.
  2. Select Turned on or Turned off to turn on or off SNMP on Sophos Switch.
  3. Enter the switch's engine ID for the remote clients. The SNMPv3 engine is an independent SNMP agent. The engine protects against message replay, delay, and redirection issues. Normally, a unique local engine ID is automatically generated, and is the default engine ID. All local SNMP users will be cleared when the local engine ID is deleted or changed, and all existing users must be reconfigured.
  4. Click Apply.
