SFP module information
Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) ports allow switches to accept different types of cabling, such as fiber optic, to give you more options when connecting switches to your network. All Sophos Switch models have at least two SFP ports.
Module
The Module tab shows you information about modules connected to the SFP ports on your switch.
Select a port from the drop-down list to see the following details about the SFP module connected to that port:
- Connector type: Shows the type of SFP module in the selected port.
- 10G Ethernet compliance codes: Shows the IEEE standard compliance codes for 10G Ethernet SFP modules.
- Ethernet compliance codes: Shows the Ethernet standards supported by the SFP module.
- Nominal bit rate: Shows the Ethernet connection speed supported by the SFP.
- Laser wavelength: Shows the laser's operating wavelength in optical SFP modules.
- Vendor OUI: Shows the Organizationally Unique Identifier (OUI) of the SFP module's vendor.
- Vendor name: Shows the name of the vendor of the SFP module.
- Part number: Shows the SFP module's part number.
- Revision number: Shows the SFP module's revision number.
- Serial number: Shows the SFP module's serial number.
- Date code: Shows the SFP module's manufacturing date.
- DDM type: Shows whether or not the SFP module supports Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM).
DDM type
DDDM lets the switch monitor certain parameters of the SFP module in real time. The DDM type tab shows these parameters.
Select a port from the drop-down list to see the following details:
- Temperature: Shows the temperature of the SFP module.
- Voltage: Shows the SFP module's supply voltage.
- Tx laser bias: Shows the laser's bias current in milli-amps.
- Tx power: Shows the transmitting power of the SFP module.
- Rx power: Shows the receiving power of the SFP module.
- Tx fault state: Shows if there's an issue with the SFP module.
- Rx LOS state: Shows whether or not the SFP module is receiving a signal.
- Alarm flag: Shows if one of the monitored parameters is outside of its normal operating range and has exceeded the warning threshold.
- Warn flag: Shows if one of the monitored parameters is outside of its normal operating range.
