Config

apname

Command objective: Sets the name of the access point.

Syntax: config apname <apname>

Parameters:

  • apname: The name you want to set for the access point.

Default: AP[MACAddress].

Example:

# config apname reception-lobby

basic_info show status

Command objective: Shows the configuration information of the access point

Syntax: config basic_info show status {admin | date&time | led_settings | syslog_server}

Parameters:

  • admin: Shows the Administrator name and management settings.
  • date&time: Shows the current date and time of the access point, NTP server settings, and time zone.
  • led_settings: Shows the Power LED and Diag LED settings.
  • syslog_server: Shows the syslog server settings.

Example:

# config basic_info show status date&time

date

Command objective: Sets the internal clock of the access point.

Syntax: config date {<yy> | <yyyy>/<mm>/<dd>} {<HH>:<MM>:<SS> | <HH>:<MM>}

Parameters:

  • yy | yyyy: Sets the year. Can be a two-digit or four-digit value.
  • mm: Sets the month of the year.
  • dd: Sets the day of the month.
  • HH: Sets the current hour. Use 24-hour format.
  • MM: Sets the current minutes.
  • SS: Sets the current seconds.

Default: 2012/01/01 00:00:00

Example:

# config date 2022/12/27 13:45:25

init

You can't use this command in edit mode.

Command objective: Restores all settings to the default value.

Syntax: config init [force]

Parameters:

  • force: Forces the restart

Example:

# config init force

led_setting

You can't use this command in edit mode.

Command objective: Sets the LED behavior of the access point.

Syntax: config led_setting {power | diag } {on | off}

Parameters:

  • power: Selects the power LED.
  • diag: Selects the diagnostic LED.

Default: on

Example:

# config led_setting diag on

management

Warning

If you turn off SSH from the command line, your session ends. You can't reconnect to the CLI until it's turned on again in the UI. See Command line access.

Command objective: Sets the management interface network protocols.

Syntax: config management {ftp | http | https | ssh | snmp | telnet } {disable | enable}

Parameters:

  • ftp: Sets the FTP protocol.
  • http: Sets the HTTP protocol.
  • https: Sets the HTTPS protocol.
  • ssh: Sets the SSH protocol.
  • snmp: Sets the SNMP protocol.
  • telnet: Sets the TELNET protocol.

Default:

  • http: disabled
  • https: enabled
  • ssh: disabled
  • snmp: disabled
  • telnet: disabled
  • ftp: disabled

Example:

# config management snmp enable

management https port

Command objective: Sets the HTTPS port to use when connecting to the access point.

Syntax: config management https port <port>

Parameter description:

  • port: The HTTPS port you want to use when connecting to the access point.

Default: 443

Example:

# config management https port 8443

management snmp version

Command objective: Sets the management interface SNMP options.

Syntax: management snmp version {v1/v2 rcom <rcom> rwcom <rwcom> | v3 v3_name <name> v3_passwd <password>}

Parameters:

  • v1/v2: Set the SNMP version as both SNMP version 1 and SNMP version 2.

    • rcom: The read-only community string for SNMP GET requests. Must be 6-32 characters.
    • rwcom: The read-write community string for SNMP SET requests. Must be 6-32 characters.
  • v3: Set the SNMP version as SNMP version 3.

    • v3_name: The SNMPv3 username.
    • v3_passwd: The SNMPv3 password.

Default:

  • rcom: public
  • rwcom: private

Example:

# config management snmp version v1/v2 rcom sophosrcom rwcom sophosrwcom

management snmp trap

Command objective: Sets the management interface SNMP trap options.

Syntax: config management snmp trap {disable | enable} trapcom <trapcom> ip <ipaddress>

Parameters:

  • trapcom: The SNMP trap community string for SNMP traps.
  • ipaddress: The IP address of the SNMP Manager where traps are sent.

Example:

# config management snmp trap enable trapcom sophostrap ip 192.168.2.254

ntp client

Command objective: Sets the NTP options for the access point.

Syntax: config ntp client {enable server <ntpserver> interval <ntpinterval> | disable}

Parameters:

  • ntpserver: The FQDN of the NTP server.
  • ntpinterval: The interval, in hours, to query the NTP server. Must be between 1-24.

Example:

# config ntp client enable server 1.us.pool.ntp.org interval 24

password

Command objective: Sets the username and password to log into the access point.

Syntax: config password <username> <oldpassword> <newpassword>

Parameters:

  • username: The username for the access point's administrator acount.
  • oldpassword: The current password for the specified user.
  • newpassword: The new password for the specified user. The password must meet the following requirements:

    • At least one special characters from -+@!%*#?=.
    • At least one number.
    • At least one letter.
    • At least ten characters long.

Default:

  • username: admin

Example:

# config password admin 0ldP@ssw0rd n3wP@ssw0rd

reboot

You can't use this command in edit mode.

Command objective: Restarts the access point.

Syntax: config reboot [force]

Parameters:

  • force: Forces the access point to restart immediately.

Example:

# config reboot force

restore

You can't use this command in edit mode.

Command objective: Restores the access point configuration from a configuration file.

Syntax: config restore target {usb | tftp server <tftpserver>} file <filename> [pass <password>] [force]

Parameters:

  • tftpserver: The IP address of the TFTP server with the configuration file.
  • filename: The name of the configuration file.
  • password: The password to open a password-protected file.
  • force: Forces the restore.

Example:

config restore target tftp server 192.168.2.71 file ubi_kernel_EW-7489SAX-encrypt.bin pass S3cur3P@ssw0rd

save

You can't use this command in edit mode.

Command objective: Saves the current configuration to a file.

Syntax: config save target {usb | tftp server <tftpserver>} file <filename> [pass <password>] [force]

Parameters:

  • tftpserver: The IP address of the TFTP server to save the configuration file.
  • filename: The name of the configuration file.
  • password: The password to protect the configuration file.
  • force: Forces the save.

Example:

config save target tftp server 192.168.2.71 file ubi_kernel_EW-7489SAX-encrypt.bin pass S3cur3P@ssw0rd

syslog client

Command objective: Sets the SYSLOG options for the access point.

Syntax: config syslog client {disable | enable server <syslogserver> | usb {enable | disable}}

Parameters:

  • syslogserver: The IP address of the server where logs are sent.

timezone

Command objective: Sets the timezone of the access point.

Syntax: config timezone <zone>

Parameters:

  • zone: Set a timezone from the following table:

username

Command objective: Sets the username and password used to log into the access point.

Syntax: config username admin <username> <oldpassword> <newpassword>

Parameters:

  • username: The new username for the admin user.
  • oldpassword: The current password for the admin user.
  • newpassword: The new pasword for the admin user. The password must meet the following requirements:

    • At least one special characters from -+@!%*#?=.
    • At least one number.
    • At least one letter.
    • At least ten characters long.

Default:

  • username: admin

Example:
