Getting started

You must perform some basic setup on AP6 series access points before you can manage them.

Connecting the access point

Connect the AP6 to power using either the DC power adapter (AP6 420 only) or power sourcing equipment (PSE) that supplies sufficient power over ethernet.

On startup, the access point will attempt to receive an IP address via DHCP.

When the access point has received an IP address, it attempts to communicate with Sophos Central. During this time, the status LED blinks green. When the access point establishes communication with Sophos Central, the status LED turns solid green.

Your access point is now ready to register with Sophos Central.
