These are the release notes for Sophos Managed Threat Detection for Windows Server 2012 R2 and later, managed by Sophos Central.
The features mentioned in these release notes are only available if you have the appropriate license.
You may find that you can't yet download and use the latest version. This is because Sophos releases the software over a number of days, but publishes the release notes on the first day.
Managed Threat Detection is a new Sophos service that works in parallel with third-party endpoint protection to monitor for threats that the protection product misses, or can't convict because they are too ambiguous.
The Managed Threat Detection service focuses on detection and notification of active threats that have the potential to cause most damage, like ransomware, active adversary and persistence. The Managed Threat Detection Ops team validates threats before notifying customers to prevent false positives.
In addition to real-time email communications, the real-time Managed Threat Detection dashboard with a 30 day historic view provides you with details about Managed Threat Detection activity such as detections and Managed Threat Detection cases for your estate.

The on-device agent for Server shows Managed Threat Response Essentials as the name of the service. The service was rebranded to Managed Threat Detection. We will update the agent with the next Server release to show Managed Threat Detection.
This version of Sophos Managed Threat Detection is supported on Windows Server 2012 R2 and later.
