Protected Browser now helps protect users from phishing attacks by monitoring when they enter corporate domains and email addresses on suspicious, high-risk, and low-reputation websites. You can configure policies to warn users or block submissions of corporate credentials to reduce the risk of credential theft.
Protected Browser now includes an MSI deployment package for enterprise deployments. You can use the MSI package with device management tools such as Microsoft Intune to deploy, configure, and manage Protected Browser at scale.
We've added new data boundary profiles to give you greater flexibility when applying data protection controls. The following new profiles support common productivity workflows, such as screen sharing, recording, and using AI-generated content, while still protecting sensitive data:

You can now use the Protected Browser extension on Chromium-based browsers instead of installing the full Sophos Protected Browser. The extension lets you apply security policies and monitor user activity within users' existing browsers, making it easier to extend browser protection without requiring a browser replacement. You can also enforce the use of the full Protected Browser for applications that require enhanced security and control. This adds stronger protection for those applications and helps transition users gradually to Sophos Protected Browser.
The extension is designed for deployment in managed desktop environments. It can be rolled out using existing browser and device management tools, including Active Directory Group Policy Objects (GPOs), Microsoft Intune, Jamf, and Google Enterprise. You can download the deployment tools for the extension from the My Environment > Installers page in Sophos Central.
As part of this feature, we have also added the following enhancements:
You can now send email invitations directly to users to help them install Sophos Protected Browser on their managed devices. The invitation email includes a setup link that guides users through downloading the browser and signing in with their work account.
Live Discover now includes built-in Data Lake queries that provide granular visibility into the web activity of Protected Browser users.
With these SQL queries, you can generate the following reports:
To access these queries in Sophos Central, go to Threat Analysis Center > Live Discover > Protected Browser.
There are no resolved issues included in this release.
Applications are now organized into categories when you create and manage application group policy objects. This makes them easier to find and manage.
ZTNA resources, Popular web apps, and Generative AI appear at the top of the list for faster access. You can also select the entire Generative AI category at the same time for improved accuracy and ease of use.
Protected Browser now logs file upload and download events with details such as user, application, and status. To see this data, use the File Transfers report template under My Products > Protected Browser > Logs & Reports > File Transfers.

Protected Browser is a new Sophos product that provides an easy, effective, and affordable way to protect remote and hybrid workers, contractors, and guests—and the networks and data they access—from threats, breaches, shadow IT, and inconsistent policy enforcement. It integrates the security components needed to protect apps, data, users, and guests wherever they are in a single, familiar application: a hardened Chromium-based browser. You manage everything in Sophos Central.
Protected Browser is being released and sold as a part of the Workspace Protection suite, along with DNS Protection for Endpoints, ZTNA, and Email Monitoring.
