Migration support
Learn about support options for migrating to Sophos Firewall, including supported paths from Sophos UTM and third-party firewalls, stakeholder roles, and required information for migration assistance requests.
Warning
If you attempt the migration without using one of the supported options below, such as Sophos Partners or Sophos Professional Services, and later contact Sophos Support, you'll be redirected to one of these options. Firewall migrations between platforms are complex and are typically not covered by the standard break-fix support.
Migrate from Sophos UTM
Sophos offers a Migration Desk to all Partners free of charge, which helps plan, execute, and verify migrations from Sophos UTM to Sophos Firewall, as well as XG to XGS hardware migrations.
Who to contact
- The Sophos Migration Desk can be engaged by sending an email to UTMtoSFOSMigrations@Sophos.com.
- If the Sophos Migration Desk deems the migration too complex, they will recommend Sophos Professional Services.
Expect a response within 2 business days with the next steps and documentation needed to proceed.
How to submit a technical issue
When submitting a request, please include the following information:
- Customer contact information
- Sophos Firewall model and firmware versions
- Number of appliances to be migrated and the deadline
- How much time is available for the cutover
- IP schema document

How to submit a technical issue
When submitting a technical issue, please include the following information:
- The third-party firewall's backup (where possible)
- Screenshot of the Sophos Firewall and the third-party firewall migration configuration (where applicable)
- The firmware version and model type of the third-party firewall backup
- The firmware version and model type of Sophos Firewall you want to import to
- The XML backup generated when using the migration tool
