Sophos Central

You can set up a new Sophos Firewall with Sophos Central and manage it centrally.

You can register existing Sophos Firewall devices with Sophos Central and manage the devices centrally.

You can also use Security Heartbeat to enable endpoint devices on your network to share health information. Synchronized Application Control lets you detect and manage applications in your network.

Centrally managed firewalls can use a ZTNA gateway to provide secure access to internal resources. See Integrate your firewall with ZTNA.

Set up a new firewall with Sophos Central

You can set up a new Sophos Firewall and claim it in Sophos Central, then activate and synchronize your subscriptions. See Set up a new firewall with Sophos Central.

Register with Sophos Central

To register the firewall with Sophos Central, click Register.

To clear your registration with Sophos Central, click Deregister.

Note

You need to use a Central super admin account to register with Sophos Central.

You can register the firewall using an OTP or the super admin credentials as follows:

OTP generated on Sophos Central

You can use an OTP to register the firewall if you don't have the super admin credentials for Sophos Central. For example, partners setting up customer installations and firewall administrators can use this method.

The Sophos Central administrator needs the firewall's serial number to generate the OTP on Sophos Central. The administrator must share the OTP with the firewall administrator. The OTP is valid for 14 days. For more details, see Use OTP to register with Sophos Central.

Credentials of the super admin account for Sophos Central

You can use this to register the firewall if you have the super admin credentials and access to the firewall. For more details, see Use the super admin credentials to register with Sophos Central.

Configuring Security Heartbeat

To configure Security Heartbeat, select Optional configurations and add zones to the Missing heartbeat zones field.

Note

Missing heartbeats are detected only in these zones. If a policy blocks a zone, but no zone is added here, the Security Heartbeat widget in the control center shows Missing.

If you turn off Security Heartbeat, Synchronized Application Control or Sophos Central management, you're still registered with your Sophos Central account.
